Blacksmith3D Announces Release of Newest Version of 3D Painting and Detailing Application with 64 bit support
Blacksmith3D adds 64 bit support, stacked image layers with blending modes, projection painting, virtually unlimited resolution painting and displacement map painting in its brand new version of software.
Toronto, Canada, Nov 3, 2010 - Blacksmith3D, a leading Toronto based 3D painting and detailing software development company (www.blacksmith3d.com) releases newest version of its Suite and Paint products. Version 4 enables artists to achieve greater depth and detail with massively high resolution painting, displacement maps, stacked layers and more touch-up brushes.
Blacksmith3D software is designed to easily fit into an artist's existing pipeline by supporting .obj files for imports and exports. The new version also includes tools such as Projection Painting that enables simple integration with any 2D painting applications with a few clicks. Fans of layers will also be able to use new stacked image layers that allow for layer specific blending modes.
"With Blacksmith3D-Paint v4, you can create textures whose resolution far exceeds any of the major competitors. A model that has been 'poly painted' would need the equivalent of 400,000,000 polygons to achieve the same level of detail as a 20,000 x 20,000 texture map, which Blacksmith3D-Paint v4 easily supports," explains the founder and CEO of Blacksmith3D, David Fielder.
"There is just no comparison. If you want to paint ultra high resolution texture maps directly on your objects, then Blacksmit3D-Paint v4 is your solution. Period".
The new Blacksmith3D v4 features include:
Virtually unlimited resolution painting - Allows for photo-realistic effects with extremely high resolution texture painting, and high resolution image outputs.
High Resolution Displacement Mapping - Allows users to paint and view their displacement and bump maps in real time, across UV seams.
Stacked image layers - Allows for layer specific blending modes such as overlay, dodge, burn, etc just like a 2D Painting application. Apply any effects specific to a layer, add and delete layers as needed.
Projection Painting - Allows users to capture any angles of a Blacksmith3D viewport; make adjustments in any 2D painting application, then instantly apply the changes back in Blacksmith3D. Works across UV seams.
New Brushes - including Retouch, Color Correction, Light Adjustments, etc.
Availability
Blacksmith3D-Suite v4 (which includes the newest 3D painting, as well as morphing, and modeling tools) is now available on the Blacksmith3D website for $199.95 $159.9. Blacksmith3D-Paint is available as a stand-alone application for $249.95.
The software is available as a free trial including all features (save/export disabled) at http://www.blacksmith3d.com/downloads.htm
