- Bleed UV Seams -

  • Bleeding UV seams is the process in which the color at the edge of a UV seam is spread outward to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Often used when the textures are going to be Mipmapped (Trilinear Filtering), or when the texture is going to be scaled in some way.
  • Choose the Bleed UV Seams tool
  • Set the Outer Radius to the distance (in pixels) of the bleed. In this example, we chose 100 pixels
  • If the texture was painted in Blacksmith3D and the seams look good, then set the Inner Radius to 1 (pixel). Otherwise, set Inner Radius to 0 for a more reliable, yet less smooth seam transition.
  • Note that you can bleed portions of the map simply by painting on them in the viewport. The results may not be obvious (especially if the inner radius is not 0) since the affected portions of the map are outside the UV seams.
