- Paint Channels -

  • In this example, we will show how to paint over the Color Channel while the paint is actually applied to the Bump Channel
  • To setup the viewport configuration as shown, please see the Copy Main Viewport page.
  • In the Paint Channels panel, uncheck Current and check Bump Maps. This means that the paint will only be applied to the bump channel, regardless of the display channel
  • In the main viewport (which is displaying the color channel), apply a paint stroke. Notice how the resulting paint shows up in the auxilliary viewport since it is displaying bump maps.
  • This is a very useful technique for matching up features in multiple channels. In the picture shown here, we are tracing the scar in the color channel to create a bump map.
