- Psuedo Subdivide via Extrude and Smooth -

  • Click on the Model tab and choose the Extrude tool
  • Set the Length of the extrusion to 0
  • Click the Extrude button
  • Choose the Touch-up Deformer and set the Type to Smooth
  • (Please note that when the Model tab is active, deformers act directly on the base vertices, and not a morph target)
  • Click in the viewport and drag up to smooth the selected vertices.
  • Extrude and smooth several times until desired.
  • Note the radial nature of the resulting wireframe, and compare it to a simple subdivision (bottom right).
