The purporse of this tutorial is to demonstrate workflow of selections. In Blacksmith3D-Suite, all selections are
currently vertex based. A polygon is said to be selected if all of it's attached vertices are selected as well.

Step 1. choose the "lasso tool" from the left side bar.

Step 2. Click and drag out a loop around the area that you would like to select.
|

After you release the mouse button, you will see a colored wireframe representing
the selection strengths for each vertex, and a marquee outline of the selection.
|
Step 3. To add more vertices to the selection, hold the shift key and drag out another loop.
|

Step 4. To harden the selection, that is, to make it all 100%, select "Harden Selection" from the select menu.

Step 5. To soften the selection, select "Soften Selection" from the select menu.
|
|
Step 6. To create a selection that is 100% hard from the beginning, set the stength value to 100% for the selection tool before selecting.

Since hardness was set to 100%, the selection is completely yellow.

Step 7. To remove part of the selection, hold the ALT key and trace a loop around part of the selection.
