Help, the texture seams in Poser don't look right!

Ok, so you just painted a color (texture) map in Blacksmith3D-Paint. For extra detail, you gave it a relatively high resolution (say 2048x2048). Now when you import the model and texture into Poser and give it a quick render, the seams don't match up like they do in Blacksmith3D. You tried imported it into another program (e.g. 3D Studio Max) and it looked ok there. What's going on?

The short and sweet answer is, that when using the FireFly renderer in Poser, you have to make sure it's maximum texture size setting is at least as big as your texture's width and height. In this case, it has to be 2048. Otherwise, the texture will be resized down, and a half pixel shift will occur in the resizing process. This will most noticeable at the texture seams.

So, simply increase the render quality setting until the maximum texture size is (in this case) 2048.

Platform Specific Tutorials

Poser

Here we see that Max texture size is set to 1024.

Notice the visible shift at the UV seams.

Now we set the Max texture size to 2048.

Now the UV seams look as they should.
